I'm working on a shibari photography project here in Berlin and looking to connect with an experienced rope model who's comfortable with suspension and longer sessions. This needs someone who really understands what rope bondage work involves physically and mentally. If you've modeled before or know folks active in the local scene, I'd appreciate hearing from you. I'm also curious about what makes a good rigger-model partnership work from your perspective. What's been important in your rope work experiences, and what should someone consider when looking for the right collaboration?

Trust is everything in rope bondage work. I've modeled for several years and the best sessions were always with riggers who took time to build rapport first. Communication during tying is crucial - especially with suspension. Have you attended any of the Berlin rope meetups? That's honestly the best way to meet experienced models who might be interested.

The Berlin BDSM scene has regular munches where rope people hang out. You'll find more experienced models there than online honestly. What's your experience level as a rigger? Most experienced rope models will want to know that before committing to suspension work.

This project is more artistic focused which is why I'm looking for someone with modeling experience specifically. Good point about the munches - I should probably start there.

I model in Berlin. For photography work with rope bondage I always want to see previous work and discuss the creative vision in detail first. Also negotiation about what ties, duration, whether there's nudity etc. What kind of aesthetic are you going for with the shibari photography?

As someone newer to rope modeling, what should I be looking for in terms of safety? I've done basic bondage sessions but never suspension. Trying to understand what questions to ask riggers.

For suspension you need to know their training background, how long they've been doing rope work, whether they know nerve points and circulation issues. Always have safety shears present. A good rigger will check in constantly during the tie. Never let someone suspend you if they can't explain their safety protocols clearly.

Also make sure there's a spotter for suspension bondage, especially for photography when the rigger might be distracted by the camera. I've seen too many people skip this basic safety step in the BDSM scene.

The venue matters too for shibari suspension. You need proper hard points that are rated for body weight plus safety margin. Not every studio in Berlin has appropriate setup for rope bondage work.
