Starting thread: Bondage model in Barcelona

I'm looking to connect with people who've worked as bondage models in Barcelona or know the local scene. I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences working with rope artists, photographers, or studios around here. What's the community vibe like? I'm especially interested in learning how you found practitioners who prioritize safety, clear communication, and respect. Any advice on navigating the BDSM modeling scene in Barcelona would be helpful.

Barcelona has a pretty active shibari community actually. There are regular rope jams where you can meet people and get a feel for different riggers' styles before committing to anything. Always watch how they interact with their models first. The best practitioners are super clear about boundaries and have solid safety protocols in place.

Been doing rope work in Barcelona for about 4 years. The scene here is generally respectful but like anywhere you need to do your homework. Ask for references, check their portfolio, and never skip the negotiation phase. Good riggers will always do a thorough interview before any session. DM me if you want specific recommendations.

Thanks for the responses. How do you usually find these rope jams? Are they advertised somewhere specific or more word of mouth?

Most rope events are shared through local BDSM groups and communities. You'll need to get connected with people first. I'd suggest attending some munches - those are casual meetups where you can network without any play involved. Much safer way to meet people in the scene.

I modeled for shibari photography in Barcelona last year. The key thing is always meet in public first and have a full conversation about limits, safewords, and what the session will involve. Never work with anyone who rushes through that part or makes you feel pressured. The good riggers understand that trust takes time to build.

That's really helpful advice. Did you have any experience with suspension bondage or mostly floor work when you started?

Started with floor work definitely. Suspension requires a lot more skill from the rigger and more physical preparation from the model. You need to build up gradually. Anyone suggesting suspension in your first session together is a red flag honestly.

Re shibari - what kind of meetups work best?
