Starting thread: New model searching for rope partner

I'm new to rope modeling and looking to connect with an experienced rigger for practice sessions. Safety and clear communication are non-negotiable for me, especially as I'm still learning. I'm particularly interested in shibari aesthetics, though I'm open to exploring different bondage styles as I develop my skills. What I really need is someone patient who gets that I'm building both technical understanding and confidence. Someone who takes consent seriously and is willing to walk me through what they're doing and why. If you have experience working with newer models and think we might be a good match, I'd love to hear about your approach to rope work and how you typically structure sessions with someone just starting out.

Looking forward to hearing from experienced riggers in the community.

Welcome to the community. Your approach sounds really grounded which is great to see. As someone who's worked with newer rope models before, I'd say the fact that you're prioritizing safety and communication already puts you ahead of the curve.

For practice sessions with beginners, I usually start with basic ties on the ground before moving to anything suspended. We talk through every step, establish safe words and non-verbal signals, and keep scissors nearby at all times. Building trust takes time in BDSM work.

What's your experience level with bondage overall? Have you attended any rope jams or workshops yet? Those can be excellent places to observe different riggers and their styles before committing to private sessions.

I'm also pretty new to shibari modeling and had similar concerns when I started. One thing that really helped me was attending beginner-friendly rope events where you can meet multiple riggers in a supervised environment. Watch how they interact with their partners, how they explain things, and their overall vibe.

Also don't be afraid to interview potential rope partners before agreeing to anything. Ask about their training, how long they've been practicing, and request references from other models they've worked with. The good ones won't be offended by questions.

DM me if you want to chat more about my experience finding the right match.

Your safety priorities are spot on. Just wanted to add that you should always meet in a semi-public space first or have a trusted friend know where you are during initial sessions. The bondage community is generally great but basic precautions matter.

Good luck with your search.
