I'm putting together a shibari photography project here in Houston and looking for a model to collaborate with. Does anyone have recommendations on where to connect with rope models locally? I'm thinking about reaching out through BDSM community events or rope workshops, but I'd appreciate hearing what's actually worked for others. I want to handle this respectfully from the start-proper discussions about boundaries, limits, and expectations before any sessions happen. For those who've built working relationships with models in similar projects, how did you approach the initial conversations? What helped establish trust and clear communication early on?

I've been modeling for rope bondage in Houston for a couple years now. Munches are definitely your best bet for meeting people in the community. There's regular rope jams where you can see riggers and models working together, which gives everyone a chance to observe skills and professionalism before committing to anything. Make sure you have references from other riggers or established community members. Most experienced models won't work with someone completely unknown. What kind of shibari style are you working with? Traditional Japanese or more fusion? That might help narrow down who'd be a good fit for your project. Also, have you done much rope work before or is this your first time rigging for photography?
