Starting thread: Want to shoot bondage content at home

I'm looking to start filming bondage scenes at home and hoping to get some practical advice from people who've done this before. What kind of camera setup works best for you? I'm thinking about lighting options that won't break the bank but still look decent on video. Also curious about how you handle positioning and framing when you're both in front of and behind the camera. Safety is obviously important too, so any tips on keeping things secure when filming would be really helpful. Just trying to learn the ropes here before I dive in.

Ring lights are your friend. Get two adjustable ones from any electronics store and you're set for most bondage scenes. For camera, honestly a decent smartphone on a tripod works great these days. Position it to capture the full rope work. Always have safety shears within reach when filming shibari.

Are you filming solo or with a partner? That changes the setup quite a bit. For solo work you definitely need remote controls or timers.

With a partner mostly. She's interested in modeling for rope bondage content.

Get a camera with flip screen so you can see the framing while you're tying. Game changer for BDSM content. Also invest in a good wide angle lens to capture full body shots without backing the camera way across the room.

Safety first when filming. Have someone check the rope tension regularly and never leave tied person alone even for a second while camera is rolling. DM me if you want more specific safety tips for filming.

Thanks, that's really helpful. What about backdrop or setting? Just use bedroom or should I set up something specific?

Clean simple backdrop works best. Dark sheets or fabric behind subject makes the rope work pop. Avoid busy patterns that distract from the bondage itself.

I've been shooting rope content for two years now. Lighting angles matter more than expensive equipment. Side lighting shows rope texture really well in shibari. Message me privately if you want to know about my setup.

Got it on the lighting. Any recommendations on camera angles for rope work?

Mix it up. Get some close ups of the actual ties and knots, then pull back for full body shots. For shibari especially, capture how the rope follows body lines. Multiple angles make for better content. Always film more than you think you need.

Don't forget audio. If you're doing instructional bondage content people want to hear clear explanations. Cheap lapel mic helps a lot.

Film in 4K if your camera supports it. Gives you flexibility to crop and zoom in post without losing quality on the rope details. BDSM content benefits from that extra resolution.

Document your rope safety practices on camera too. Shows you're responsible and educated about bondage. DM me if you want editing tips.
