Starting thread: Any studios hiring bondage models

I'm interested in getting into bondage modeling and wondering if anyone knows studios that are currently hiring. I've done some research but would really value hearing from people with actual experience. What's the best approach to finding legitimate opportunities?

First thing: ask studios about their safety protocols before agreeing to anything. Legit bondage studios will have someone trained in rope safety on set at all times, safewords established beforehand, and EMT shears readily available.

Look for studios that primarily focus on shibari and artistic rope work rather than just generic BDSM content - they tend to be more professional. DM me if you want more detailed advice about vetting studios.

I'm also interested in this! Been practicing rope tying for about six months and thinking about modeling. What kind of experience do studios usually expect? Do you need to already know a lot about bondage positions or do they guide you through everything?

Most bondage studios don't expect models to be rope experts. That's the rigger's job. What they do want is someone comfortable being tied, who can communicate clearly about their limits, and who understands BDSM safety basics.

Start with test shoots if possible. Some studios do unpaid test sessions to see if you're a good fit before committing to paid work.

Thanks for the responses! The safety protocol checklist is really helpful. Should I be bringing my own safety scissors or is that always provided? Also wondering about contracts - what should I look for in a model release form specific to rope bondage work?

Studios should ALWAYS provide safety equipment. If they expect you to bring your own shears, that's sketchy.

For contracts, make sure it specifies exactly what kind of bondage content they can produce, where it can be distributed, and for how long. Should also include your hard limits in writing. Message me privately if you want to see an example of a good contract.

About rope: what beginner mistakes do you see most?

Check out local shibari meetups and munches in your area. That's honestly the best way to network and find legitimate studios. People in the rope community will tell you who's reputable and who to avoid.

Don't just cold email studios you find online. Get recommendations from other models or experienced riggers first.

That's solid advice about the meetups. I've been to a couple rope jams but haven't thought about them as networking opportunities for modeling work. Are there specific questions I should be asking people there about studios they've worked with?

At rope events, just be genuine about your interest in bondage modeling. Ask experienced models about their experiences, what they wish they'd known starting out, and if they can recommend any studios. Most people in the shibari community are pretty open about sharing info if you approach respectfully.

Also watch how riggers work at these events - you'll quickly see who prioritizes safety and consent versus who's sloppy.

Anyone know if studios are more active hiring during certain times of year? I heard BDSM content production picks up in fall and winter for some reason.
